Poundon House, a private family home, is situated between Bicester and Buckingham overlooking unspoilt country-side. The House, built at the turn of the century, was designed by a follower of Lutyens and has a Palladian approach. It is a very private place to hold Weddings. There are 3 rooms licenced for Ceremonies and we can seat up to 200 persons for a Civil Ceremony.  Drinks Receptions are held in the main Reception Rooms and on the Terrace with the Wedding Breakfast to follow in the marquee that is situated beneath mature beech trees. We want to make your day as memorable and stress free as possible, and every effort will be taken to ensure it is!

  • Civil Licence approved for 3 Reception Rooms - we can cater for Ceremonies up to 70 guests in The Dining Room. For larger Weddings, guests can be seated on The Terrace - a beautiful setting that can seat up to 200 guests. The Marquee is also licenced.
  • Receptions can range from drinks in the house and garden to the Wedding Breakfast in a stunning marquee, lined with Indian hand blocked printed fabric, that can seat up to 200 guests that is situated in the grounds.
  • For more intimate Weddings, The Yellow Room can be used for the Ceremony followed by a seated Wedding Breakfast for 50 persons in The Dining Room.
  • Poundon House is a private family home. The grounds are beautiful to wander and the setting truly romantic and make a fabulous backdrop for your pictures.
  • We have experience of holding Jewish, Hindu and Muslim Weddings Ceremonies, and have availability for 2013
  • We aim to be as environmental as possible and are keen advocators of the rural countryside. As such, we ask couples to view the website and if interested call / email to make an appointment to view.
