The Priests House is perfect for romantic and intimate wedding ceremonies and receptions in a truly fabulous Yorkshire Dales setting.
With the magnificent backdrop of the 15th century Barden Tower on the northern edge of the Bolton Abbey estate, this is one of the most historic of Yorkshire civil wedding venues. Steeped in history and charm, this totally unique house is surrounded by some of the best landscape the Yorkshire Dales can offer. The photo opportunities are endless, with superb backdrops of the ruin of the once magnificent tower, the Priests House itself, the orchard, the woods or the valley stretching into the distance. The scenery and mystique of the place is dramatic whatever the season, especially the winter months with the dark nights actually complementing the authenticity of the medieval surroundings. Small and intimate... The Priests House is ideal for small, exclusive civil ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and receptions. Whilst space in the restaurant is limited, this adds to the intimate and romantic feel of the day. There are various options holding just your ceremony followed by a celebratory drink and canapé’s or following with a wedding breakfast or even a medieval themed occasion to fit in with this historic venue. No wedding is too small. ..or the chapel for a larger event... With the Tower, grounds and fabulous views all around, the venue is perfect for larger events through the use of the newly renovated “old chapel”. You will have exclusive use of the house for the duration of your stay. The Old Chapel can host parties up to 80 and will be available from May 2016. We have been waiting for 11 years for these works to happen and are excited by the opportunity it will be able to provide going forward.
Located adjacent to the histoic ruin of Barden Tower between Burnsall and Bolton Abbey. It offers fabulous views up and down the Wharfedale valley.
