Description
Bolton is a stunning medieval castle, built in 1399 and preserved in outstanding condition. It lies at the heart of Wensleydale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and boasts views of some of the most beautiful countryside in England. The Castle has Civil Wedding, Drinks and Entertaiments licences and provides a spectacular and unique setting to selebrate your special day. Mary, Queen of Scots spent six months at the Castle in 1568-1569 and it was held for the King during the Civil War. Now, hundreds of years later, you can enjoy the splendour of Bolton Castle and entertain your guests as royalty once did.
The castle is steeped in history and has a wonderful atmosphere, which is brought to life when people come to celebrate here. Furthermore, if you chose to have your reception here, you will have exclusive use of the Castle and be able to treat it as your own. We have a capacity for up to 240 inside, although the maximum in a single room is 120.The Great Chamber, which retains all of its original character and charm will seat up to 120 people at tables and with a log fire burning, creates the perfect atmosphere to celebrate such an important occasion.
