As the curtain went up on the catwalk shows at BBEH in Harrogate last month, the new season came into being with key trends, fresh looks and top styles for 2009 brides. Monochrome was a key trend on the catwalk, with Lusan Mandongus opening the show with a stunning black and white scene. A special guest appearance was made by Miss England, who wowed the audience by taking to the catwalk in a stunning dress from The Bride by Marcelane collection.
Ruffles were everywhere. Donna Salado made a dramatic splash on the runway with huge skirts falling in rippling billows.
And colour opulence was a popular trend. Alice James featured stunning red styles with full skirts of ruffles and sparkling detail. Designer Sharon Bowen showcased red too with a stunning strapless gown worn with a matching corsage around the neck.
The show had something to cater for every taste with gowns crafted using the finest fabrics from stunning duchess satin to vintage diamante encrusted lace. Alan Hannah bought a touch of Grecian goddess to the catwalk with his stunning embroidered halterneck gown - a fabulous vintage look, good for a white sand wedding or a Scottish castle!
